Our Vision...

and caring members of their community
Through collaboration with parents, we will work to address the issues many children and families in our communities face on a daily basis. Through our core values of CARE -- Collaboration, Adaptation, Respect and Excellence -- we will promote opportunities for families to come together to build positive and constructive relationships within their family unit and within their community.
We hope to empower parents to help them meet the challenges of raising children which will in turn create a generation of confident, responsible and service-focused young people.
Summer is underway which means GHFF is providing nutritious meals for children and parents through our Community Lunch Bunch program. We believe healthy meals are one of the building blocks for a strong family foundation, and we are working to do our part for families in need. We are fortunate to have the support of many partners for meal, exercise and health education, and fiscal support. Cool weather was the perfect backdrop for a day of fundraising and fellowship on May 17, 2010. The overwhelming success of the Second Annual PLC Open will allow GHFF to continue to develop programs that support the needs of children and families in the greater San Diego area. Our sincere thanks to lead sponsors Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and AO Reed, Inc. for continuing to make our programs a reality. "Backpacks for a Smart Start" was the featured program for the day and drew a great deal of interest and financial support. Thank to the PLC Open Tournament Committee, golfers, volunteers and dinner guests who made the event a success from start to finish.
